One of each shrub was grown in clay at my own home and one in sand at a friend's place. Mine have done well despite the previous squirrel adventures, especially the weigela and butterfly bush - they put on considerable growth.
Everything growing in the sand is healthy and without problems.
I don't anticipate any issues over winter and will report the progress in spring.
